The initial requirement to qualify for the Charitable Gift is to be a Freeman of the City of Coventry and in need. The scheme requirements state that preference may be given to the aged.
The onus is therefore on the applicant to complete the Application Form truthfully, noting that any liability to tax shall be their responsibility.
Supporting Documentation
To be eligible for either the Annual Scheme Benefit Payment or the Charitable Gift, all applications must be accompanied by the following documentation:
- Proof of income
- Current UK address
- Copy of the applicant’s Birth Certificate
- Copy of the relevant Freeman‘s Oath
